I've been learning about, and trying to implement it for the last 2-3 years.

Problem:
No one has heard of this type of service in this area. The only thing like this here is copier rentals.

What I'm running into is:
1. Small business don't want to pay a monthly fee period, no matter what the service or product.
2. They don't trust technology at all, and most are doing double duty in that everything done on the computer is also done by hand on paper.
3. The amount that small businesses are paying for technology per year is very low. Of the last 14 companies I've met with, those with 10 or less computer have not paid more than $3K per year, and the ones with between 10-25 are paying less than $7K per year. (These number include the cost of hardware)

Questions:
Any thoughts on how to show the value of managed services when businesses are investing so little into technology?

Are customers still vague on what "managed service provider" actually means?

Are customers still vague on what "managed service provider" actually means? I would be intersted in learning how to better quailify them and get them to answer "what is your IT budget"?

Do you have any guide or best practice for this?

Thanks,
Bora

Do end-users of MS need more education about MS?

Is there enough information about Managed Services out there for the consumer?
